Recording Guide

Safety

Follow park rules.

Check the loose article policy for each ride.

Store your phone in a secure pocket while on rides. Zippered or other sealed pockets are best.

Use the Ride Forces Apple Watch app on any rides where it is unsafe to bring a phone.

Recording with iPhone

Start recording before boarding, lock your phone’s screen, and secure it in a pocket.

End recording after your restraints have been released, and you’ve disembarked the ride.

It’s ok to record for longer periods of time, rides are detected automatically.

Ride Detection

The iPhone app automatically detects and saves rides by finding high forces.

Only rides that exceed 2 g will be detected.

Force data from before and after the main portion of rides is also saved for calibration purposes.

If no rides are detected the first 10 minutes of the recording will be saved.

If multiple rides are detected each will be saved separately.

Each recording has a minimum duration of 10 seconds and a maximum duration of 12 hours.

Recording with Apple Watch

Start recording before the ride begins moving, after your restraints have been locked and checked.

End recording after the ride comes to a complete stop.

Everything between when you tap start and end will be recorded. There is no ride detection in the Apple Watch app.

The ride detail view on Apple Watch only shows the main portion of the ride, but the full sequence is saved.

Each recording has a minimum duration of 10 seconds and a maximum duration of 10 minutes.
